A Coastal Forest in Mumbai?
A Coastal Forest in Mumbai?
Created in collaboration with the Mumbai Coastal Forest citizens group, this comic was developed to raise awareness about the importance of urban forests, native plantations, and the greening of rapidly urbanising cities such as Mumbai.
Using visual storytelling, the comic makes the case for a 100-acre coastal forest in Mumbai as a much-needed breathing ecosystem for the city. It highlights how native urban forests can help cool the city, improve air quality, support biodiversity, and create meaningful public spaces for all.
At its core, the comic is a call to imagine greener urban futures and to recognise that cities like Mumbai urgently need ecological spaces woven into their growth.
