Maharashtra Water Stories - Nashik
Travel Workshops
Maharashtra Water Stories is the second edition of our Rajasthan Water Stories – Paani ki Kahaani initiative. This year, students from BVCOA Navi Mumbai documented the Rahads of old Nashik, underground water tanks that open once a year during Holi. The workshop explored these structures as both cultural landmarks and forgotten ecological systems that once supported water storage in the city.
Through field visits, mapping, observation, and visual storytelling, the students studied the relationship between water, festivals, architecture, memory, and everyday life in Nashik. The final output was an isometric map and a 21 min film - workshop conducted by Marylene Negro, Celia Lebarbey and Anshul Rai that captured the Rahads and the activities around them across different moments in time.
The work was exhibited at Environ Planners, Nashik
