Learning from Puran Dhaka was developed across two international workshops studying the historic precincts of Old Dhaka. The workshops brought together students from BVCOA, CAT Trivandrum, BUET Dhaka, ENSAPLV Paris, and universities from Korea to study Puran Dhaka’s dense urban fabric, everyday life, architecture, and cultural layers.

Leewardists was invited as research experts to study the context and create a comic that became part of the final exhibition. While we were not mentoring the students, our role was to observe, interpret, and translate the stories of Puran Dhaka into a visual narrative that could sit alongside the larger research and documentation produced during the workshop.
